Meta has announced that it recorded a “slight decline” in its “Family daily active people (DAP)”, which accounts for the combined daily active users on Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp, in the first quarter of 2026. Meta's DAP in Q1 2026 was at 3.56 billion on average in the quarter March 2026, which was an increase of about 4 percent from the same period last year. The company said the decline was due to internet disruptions in Iran and restrictions on access to WhatsApp in Russia. However, reports suggest it may be due to the deteriorating quality of feeds on its platforms.
